The Camarilla are composed of six clans, and are the largest organization of vampires, and possibly of any supernatural creatures, in the World of Darkness. Camarilla policy is that vampires should try to fit in with and hide from the rest of humanity, as to easily feed on them. For this reason, they created a web of lies and misinformation, called the Masquerade, to make the public believe that supernatural beings like vampires could not possibly exist. The Camarilla also believes that the only way the vampire species can survive in these modern nights is if it unites—any breach of the Masquerade by any vampire risks exposing the entire race. Both viewpoints are fundamentally opposed by the Sabbat.
The Camarilla also enforces the Eldest as ruling class over the younger vampires.

The “Prince” ~ Holder of Praxis, Master of his/her Domain, The “Ultimate Predator” - Prince of a City! To be a Prince is to hold absolute control over a city and by any means necessary, cement that control so that none can take it away. It could be over in a single night if he is not careful. A Prince's Domain is only as secure as he makes it, and it is not a long-ruling Prince that fails to build loyalty with his subjects, as he is only one man, centuries old or otherwise. The Prince oversees the growth of a city filled with ruthless, often ambitious supernatural predators. This task alone can take a great toll on them, and it is not uncommon for most Princes to be cold, detached, and often times cruel due to it!
Positional Status given from holding this position (3) – “Exalted, Famous, Well-Known”
“Seneschal” ~ The Seneschal can be many things: Right hand to a Prince, their closest adviser, fiercest ally... or they can be none of these at all. To be a Seneschal is to hold all the responsibility of a Prince without the right of Praxis and freedom to enforce the Traditions. It can be a dangerous position to hold, as the Seneschal must be trusted enough by the Prince that they won't destroy him if it seems he has plans counter to the Prince. On the other hand, if they are merely a lapdog to the Prince, their political power may be greatly diminished. While most matters of the city can be run through the Seneschal, as noted previously, it is not uncommon for them to be ignored outright, leaving them to sit on their hands and occupy the office until removed.
Positional Status given from holding this position (2) – “Cherished, Esteemed”
“Sheriff” ~ Charged with the protection of the Masquerade, and the Traditions at large, the Sheriff is one of the three major court officers to a Camarilla Prince. The Sheriff in a city often wields a large amount of power and authority, often and in some cases, carries out his dirty work. Above all, the Sheriff is tasked with preserving the Masquerade in the city, and dealing with any such breaches. To assist in this it is not uncommon for there to be `a small collection of Deputies who can act in his absence. If necessary, the Sheriff may also act as the Prince's personal guard in public. Sheriff is a political office that is not only dangerous at times, but holds a lot of potential for political growth.
Positional Status given from holding this position (1) – “Feared”
“Keeper of Elysium” ~ Keeper of Elysium is one of the three major court officers to a Prince in a Camarilla city, and they are charged with maintaining, protecting, and sometimes, filling the Elysium established by the Prince. They may temporarily establish new Elysiums, or revoke said status in other areas, and some may elect to hold events, contests, or gatherings for Kindred to attend. Inside an Elysium the Keeper's word is law, and must be obeyed. The only people in the city who may ignore the Keeper's mandates are the Sheriff in the interest of doing his duty, the Seneschal, and the Prince himself/herself. Often times, however, they will defer to the Keeper's judgment. As with almost all offices within the Camarilla, this is potentially very powerful, or powerless, depending on who holds it and how they conduct themselves.
Positional Status given from holding this position (1) – “Honorable”
“Harpies” ~ Often known, though not always public figures in the Camarilla, Harpies are tools of Elders and Kindred with Camarilla status used to influence what the Kindred populace thinks of each other, who is praised, and who is damned. It is rare that a harpy works independently, spreading gossip and influencing standing, free of someone pulling their strings. Mostly they are in the pocket of whoever controls the city, and there, can make or break a kindred within a night's time. Though many like to apply fine finishes to them, saying they are guides, teachers, or social defenders in reality they are Harpies. Cruel, vicious, often unfeeling creatures that are freely manipulated knowingly or otherwise, to maintain control, and carefully meter out authority to those the true people in charge wish to have it.
Positional Status given from holding this position (1) – “Influential”
“Scourge” ~ While execution of this office often falls into the jurisdiction of the Sheriff, some Princes elect to maintain a distinct post of Scourge; some of these Princes even admit to doing so. More martial than the political Sheriff, a Scourge scours the Rack, and low-class or high-crime fringes of a Domain, for evidence of Caitiff, Anarchs, unacknowledged neonates, and other, more sinister threats. These, when found, the Scourge "Induces" to introduce themselves properly to the appropriate authority, hustles on their way out of the Domain, or simply destroys the kindred (as they largely lack the protection of the Traditions)!
Positional Status given from holding this position (1) – “Feared”
The Clans “Primogen” ~ Primogen, acting as part of the Primogen Council, represent their clans in any Camarilla city. They are often the primary contact point for major cross-clan business, or handling issues tied to their clan and the Camarilla. The Primogen position is potentially powerful or powerless, depending on who holds the position and what they do with it. Most Primogen can name a Whip to handle smaller issues, and act when the Primogen is not immediately available. Not all clans value their Primogen, and for some it is not a position that many want or will take willingly.
Positional Status given from holding this position (1) – “Revered”
**NOTE**
As long as a character holds their official station, no Kindred may permanently lose their Positional Status Traits, though they may be stripped temporarily.
Also once a Kindred loses/resigns, etc from a official station the Positional Status Traits goes to the new official station holder; it doesn’t stay with the ongoing station holder.
These are Positional Status Traits only.
